Crisis communications is just part of our jobs. In fact, it’s part of everyday life, not only for organizations, institutions and businesses but for individuals. But it’s no fun. First of all, we don’t wish to have crises to have to communicate about and, when we do, it can be very confusing and stress-inducing to figure out the best path. However, crisis communications doesn’t have to be a crisis itself. This is the comforting part. Most of us have heard the phrase, “The best time to respond to a crisis is before it actually happens.” In this webinar we’ll talk about how we do this – respond to a crisis before it happens – by preparing a communications plan, chain of communications, discernment around mission and identity, and community building. We’ll also talk about how to handle the media, talk to a spokesperson and craft an open, loving and contained message around particular crises. This will be a best practices discussion. Come and lend your voice to this important conversation.
